Wolves average length is females: 4.5 to 6 feet and males 5 to 6.5 feet (measured from the tip of nose to the tip of tail).

Wolves average weight is female wolves = 60 to 80 pounds and male wolves = 70 to 110 pounds.

Wolves average foot size is 4 inches wide by 5 inches long in a fully grown wolf.

Wolves lifespan is up to 13 years in wild (usually 6 to 8 years) and up to 16 years in captivity.

Wolves Fur color is gray, but can also be black, white, brown or red.

Wolves average travel speed overland is 5 miles per hour.

Wolves Sprinting speed overland is 25 to 35 miles per hour for short distances.

The North American gray wolf is listed as a threatened species on the U.S. Endangered Species List.

The North American Gray Wolf is closely related to The Mexican Wolf (Canis lupus baileyi) which is slowly being re-introduced the Southwest United States. The Red Wolf (Canis rufus) is also related to the Norh ASmerican Gray Wolf and is a smaller wolf located in the Carolinas, North America.
